Forrest, farm, wildlife and more...
Tinglewood Estate is only 7km from the centre of Denmark. We are in the middle of the tourist loop close to great wineries, cafe’s and other attractions. From here in a few minutes you can be back in town to collect your pastry from the Denmark Bakery, newspaper or visit the shops.
The estate is 125 acres set in the picturesque rolling hills of Denmark, protected by the hills and forrest. Thirty five acres is magnificent pristine karri forrest. The remainder is pasture for fat cows and new calves, wetlands, rocky outcrops, wildflowers and probably more that even we have not discovered.
At the rear near the property is a permanent creek that if your feeling adventurous you may like to explore. There are southern brown bandicoots, kangaroos, owls, kookaburras, rabbits and unfortunately the odd fox is simetimes seen. The passing procession of bird life that changes from season to season. In summer you just may find blackberries to pick for dessert.
Spectacular birds for patient watchers
For those guests that take the time to look around you can be rewarded with sighting or many spectacular birds, from the more regular kookaburras, ducks and galahs to birds or prey, parrots, wrens, finches and more.
The bird pictures above were taken at Tinglewood by a very talented guest, our thanks to Peter Horgan.
